Hilton: 25 years with special chips

The Hilton has issued commemorative chips to honor 25 years in the local gaming industry, beginning with the Golden Nugget in December 1980.

Chips are available in $5 and $25 denominations and can be purchased at any of the table games on the casino floor.

Tournament scheduled

Harrah’s Atlantic City will host a $150,000 open blackjack tourney Friday and Saturday. Tournament players will have a chance to win $150,000 with a $300 buy-in and $30 registration fee. Round One Tournament reservations are required by calling (609) 441-5741. The tournament begins at 6 p.m. Friday, round two at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by the championship round at 2:30 p.m.

The competition will take place in the Brigantine Room, on the second level. The elimination format tournament will have players play 25 hands each round to accumulate the highest chip total at their table to advance to the next round.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, with a choice of two packages as well as the last poker tournament of 2005, the New Year’s Eve Bash Poker Tournament.

“The All Night Special” package features luxury accommodations and entrance to a New Year’s Eve party at MIXX — Borgata’s restaurant and nightclub.

For those looking to get in their last hand of poker in 2005, the Borgata presents the New Year’s Eve Bash Poker Tournament.

With a $300 buy-in and $40 entry fee, poker enthusiasts can compete in No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em poker.

Sign-up begins at 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 in the Poker Room with the tournament commencing at noon. Each round is 30 minutes and players begin with $6,000 in tournament chips.
