Man Wins $382,000 in Largest Legal Poker Prize

KAMLOOPS, Canada — As reported by the Canadian Press: “A Salt Spring Island man has won the largest legal poker prize in Canada at the B.C. poker championships in Richmond, B.C.

“The four-day Texas hold’em event at River Rock Casino went into the early hours of this morning before James Hawkins took the grand prize of $382,000. He said he’s been playing poker for a couple of years and this was only his second tournament.
