The Odds on Oscar
Sportsbook.com recently released the odds on which movie will win an Oscar for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards.
They base their odds on research conducted with various entertainment insiders. I think it’s pretty funny that people like to bet on the Oscars.
The odds makers at Sportsbook.com really like Cinderella Man. They’re listed as the early favorite to win. They have the best odds at 6-1.
Some of the other flicks up for the Best Picture Award include two George Clooney movies. He’s in Syriana which is a political thriller based on the global oil industry. Syriana’s odds are 8-1. Clooney’s other movie is Good Night and Good Luck (10-1).
Steven Spielberg’s Munich is 12-1. This movie chronicles the assassination of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Memoirs of a Geisha is 10-1, North Country is 13-1, and Jarhead has slipped to 50-1.
